Gene effect for productive tillering in wheat

Significant differences in the number of tillers were found among the investigated wheat genotypes. The Sava genotype (X=9.8) had the highest tiller number while Panonija Er (X=6.6) - the lowest. The mode of inheritance of tiller number in F1 and F2 depended on the cross combination. The absence of nonallelic interaction for the number of tillers was established. NS 12-77 and Panonija Er genotypes had more recessive genes and Sava more dominant genes for tiller number. Bezostaja-1 and UC 65680 had equal number of dominant and recessive genes.
