Diluted wort (about 30g/l of sugar) with the addition of CaCO3 is a good media for the cultivation of Lactobacillus plantarum and Streptococcus faecium bacteria. The highest yields of bacteria cells were obtained under anaerobic cultivation conditions, in a shaken culture. The biomass of these bacteria cannot be preserved longer than 20-25 days without an increased loss of activity. By drying the residue, an S. faecium bacteria preparation was obtained, which, after a year, had a survival percentage of 50.5%.
