The yield of 15 maize hybrids studied depended on their genotypic traits, the size of the vegetational area, along with a significant interaction of the plant composition and the genotypes. The greatest differences between hybrids appeared when the greatest plant densities were used, while the differences were least apparent with medium plant densities, which were in accordance with the requirements of the FAO group. There was no significant effect of the crop density on the content of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium in grains, although there were correlations between the uptake of P and K and the yield.
