This work describes the process of creating a new winter wheat variety and its morphological, physiological, productive and technological characteristics. The new variety, Zemunka 1, has a greater yield than the standard varieties, Partizanka and Zlatna dolina. Zemunka 1 has genetic potential of production greater than 10 t/ha. Zemunka 1 is very resistant to winter, lodging and abscission of grain. It possesses good resistance to leaf and stalk rust and to mildew. It has shown tolerance towards ear Fusarium graminearum. Zemunka 1 forms large grains. This variety possesses a large percentage of some trace elements in grains (Mg, Zn, Mn, Cu, N, K) than the varieties Yugoslavia, Beogradjanka, Partizanka, NS-rana 2 and KG-56. Zemunka 1 belongs to the second and third quality classes. It makes good quality bread.
