The effects of some physico-mechanical characteristics of soybean on its harvest

It is important to know technological and physico-mechanical characteristics of soybean stand when designing working elements of a harvester. The position of seed pods in the plant is evaluated with respect to the design of a harvesting mechanism. The results indicate that the height of pod setting above the ground is different in varieties. Harvesting mechanisms (mainly reel) influence to a great extent an increase in the harvest loss. This is the reason why it is important to know the pressure when pods get open. The measurements were performed in field and laboratory conditions.
