Parks, arboreta, botanic gardens [Hungary]
1990
Temesi, I.
The number of protected arboreta, parks and gardens is more than 200, of which 20 are of national importance. As far as their management is concerned, the number of well-kept ones is 100 to 150, but the condition of 200 of them approaches neglect. The intention is to create such a widespread public feeling condition system that the presumption of law should become unnecessary regarding these areas in the long run, as it is in many other parts of the world. Although their significance is of a rather cultural-historical value, they also serve many other kinds of functions.
