Ismail, A.Y. | Kald, R.A.
The toxicity of four insecticides (Malathion, Dursban, Sumicidine, and Folithion) on the cigarette beetle (L. serricorne) has been studied. Sumicidine and Folithion were the most effective toxicants, where Malathion showed only a little toxicity. None of these 3 insecticides showed a high initial kill, nevertheless, they provided a certain toxicity during the first week. It was found that Sumicidine was the most stable insecticide compared to Folithion which was deteriorated rapidly. Our results indicated clearly, that Sumicidine (20% E.C.) was the insecticide of choice, and could be recommended for use in such treatments
