Nutrient requirement of two Casuarina glauca adapted into two different sites at the northern west area of Egypt

Water culture technique was used in this study where the concentration of nutrients in the solution were kept constant during the growth period by addition of the consumed nutrients. The solution volume was adjusted by additions of distilled water every day. The climatic conditions of the experiment included: light/dark periods of 16/18 hours, thermoperiods of 30/20 deg C and relative humidity 70%. The result indicated that Casuarina glauca of Alexandria has high P and Mn requirements, while those for Ca, Mg, and Na was low at all nutrients concentrations. The requirements of the plants for K, Fe, and Zn were low at low nutrients concentrations then increased at the highest nutrients concentrations. In the case of Casuarina glauca of Tahrir, its requirements for P, Mn, and Fe were high, while they were low for Ca, Mg, Na and Zn at all nutrients concentrations. At the highest concentration (5.02 mS/cm), plant requirement for Zn increased while for K was generally varied from low to high depending on nutrients concentration. Generally, Casuarina glauca of Tahrir showed higher nutrient requirements especially calcium than Casuarina glauca of Alexandria which preferred magnesium
