Feasibility study on a 60,000-head monthly production capacity of aquarium fish for export [Philippines]
1988
Lejano, R.M.V.
The primary objective of this study is to determine the marketing, technical, and financial feasibility of raising a 60,000-head monthly production capacity of tropical aquarium fish for sale to the export market. In order to accomplish this objective, the past and present status of the aquarium fish industry is evaluated. A marketing program which would then provide a good estimate of sales is formulated. The technical viability of putting up a breeding and maintenance fish farm whose products will be geared to the export market is determined by conducting interviews with fish breeders and exporters and reading on literatures on tropical fish breeding, care and maintenance. The project's investment costs and benefits over a five-year period are assessed.
