Nondestroying method of the glucosinolate content determination in rapeseed with the use of Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS)

An attempt of the spectrometry application in NIR as an inexpensive and quick method of the glucosinolate content analysis in whole rapeseeds has been undertaken. The Hungarian screening NIR spectrophotometer "Infrapid-61" was applied. Fifty rapeseed samples with different content of glucosinolates (from 5 to 130 micromols/g of f.f.m) were used, which were made use of for the apparatus calibration and establishment of required parameters. The data obtained have proved that this metod is suitable for the preliminary selection of breeding materials
