The studies were conducted on 30 living pine trees in 5 sample stands of age 16, 37, 59, 87, and 104 years. The wood was dried and weighed to calculate moisture content. The wood density was measured with a hydrostatic method. 59 year-old stand had highest average wood density, 16 year-old, and 104 year-old stands had highest average moisture content. Irrespective of the stand age from which samples were taken the increase of wood density was correlated with the decrease of wood moisture content. The relationship density x moisture content is characterized by curvilinear regression
