Pelleted complete feed based on grass meal and dried maize meal for young sheep

The young, one year old, female crossbred sheep were distributed into feeding groups and fed ad libitum or restricted amounts of feeds containing 10, 30, or 55 percent of grass meal and 45, 25 or 0 percent of dried whole maize plant meal. The sheep have also free access to corn or rape straws. The highest productive indices were attained in sheep fed rations with high percentage of grass meal (55 percent). The quality of wool was high. The Na and Ca balances were positive. The crude fibre digestibility in sheep fed rations with 45 percent of maize meal was significantly lower, but the other digestibility coefficients in all groups were satisfying
