Influence of sprinkling on the uptake of nutrient components by the plants cultivated in two four-field rotations. Pt. 1. Microelements

Under sprinkling conditions the content in dry matter of plants of manganese and zinc, in some cases also boron and copper distinctly decreased, whereas molibdenum content increased. Due to high increases of yields with addition of water the uptake of microelements in irrigated crop rotations increased in the degree depending on the kind of component. Sprinkling has caused an increase in the uptake of manganese in crop rotation A (early potatoes + fodder cabbage (as aftercrop) - oats - field bean - winter wheat) by 8.3 per cent and in crop in rotation B (late potatoes - spring barley - winter rape - winter wheat) by 3.7 per cent, copper by 30.6 and 22.6 per cent respectively; boron by 55.7 and 15.1 per cent, molybdenum by 80.0 and 33.6 per cent, zinc by 31.0 and 13.6 per cent.
