Preliminary observation on the control of "Hartrot" of coconut by insecticidal application

The preliminary results of soil drench applications of Endrin and Sevin for controlling 'Hartrot' in coconut palm are given. The number of plants dead due to 'Hartrot' in Endrin applied plots when compared with the same in untreated palms indicate the absence of any effect for Endrin in controlling the disease, whereas, Sevin application has shown positive effect. But none of the treatments are statistically significant.
