Cooperative Marketing Finance and Proposed Scheme for Self Financing by Marketing Cooperatives

The essence of Cooperative Marketing Finance is highlighted. The problems currently facing the Cooperatives Marketing Sector in Uganda particulary in the marketing of coffee are discussed. Emphasis is put on the importance of having timely crop procurement finance and operational finance for the success of the marketing sector. Proposals are given on how the current financial bottlenecks can be overcome in the short and in the long-run through a proposed self-financing scheme. The role the government can play is highlighted.
