The influence of ground moist maize corn silage on the gain, food conversion, state of health and economy of fattening pigs weighing from 30 to 100 kg was tested in this work. In the first trial, 100 pigs from the control group were fed with dry maize corn and protein supplement and 100 pigs from the trial group with silage and protein supplement. In the second trial 100 pigs from the control group were fed with complete feed and 104 pigs from the trial group were fed with silage and protein supplement. The average daily gain of pigs from trial groups, in comparison to the pigs from control groups, was higher by 3.40% (10.669 kg:0.647 kg) and statistically significant, and conversion of dry matter was smaller by 24.31% (2.852 kg:3.768 kg). Pigs ate silage with a good apetite and were not ill from diarrhoea. Visual and histological examination of the livers from pigs fed with silage did not show any changes. The price of 1 kg of gain of the pigs fed with silage, in comparison to the pigs fed with complete feed was smaller by 25.59%.
