The irrigational regime for the "P-7" tabacco variety in the region of Prilep [Macedonia, Yugoslavia]

Based on the results of the three-year investigation of irrigation of tobacco variety "P-7", the following statements can be drawn: the controlled irrigation of the "P-7" tobacco variety has a positive effect upon tobacco yield and quality; by irrigation of tabacco, depending on the regime and norm of irrigation, the dry tobacco yield increases from 25.22 to 41.26 % (an average for three years), and a better quality is obtained, which means that the purchase price is higher for 10.60 to 15.07%; the best result, i.e. the highest gross monetary income (which is 78.04% higher than the unirrigated check) is obtained in the case of tobacco irrigation of 1,303 m3/ha water.
