The influence of fertilization with potassium on the yield and quality of flue-cured tobacco

The influence of fertilization with potassium and of its chemical form on the yield and quality of flue-cured tobacco was investigated over the period from 1984 to 1986. Experiments were made on experimental plots. In all three years of investigation, tobacco fertilized with potassium chloride had a significantly higher chlorine content compared to tobacco fertilized with potassium sulphate and unfertilized tobacco. Significant differences between fertilized tobacco and the control (0) were also found in yield (1984, 1985, 1986), and in the nicotine, and potassium content (1984).
