The volume of cell nuclei in the medial amygdaloid nucleus (AMY) was significantly different between male and female control rats in the first period of ontogenetic development i.e. in neonatal, early and late juvenile but in later periods, i.e. sexual maturity and adulthood, there were no differences. Between treated male and female rats there was a significant difference in the volume of cell nuclei in the medial amygdaloid nucleus in all investigated periods except for the period of sexual maturity. Significant differences appeared between treated females and control males. The volume of cell nuclei in the lateral amygdaloid nucleus was significantly different between control male and female rats in all investigated periods except for the neonatal period (10 days). Significant differences appeared between treated males and females in all investigated periods except for the period of sexual maturity.
