Rainfall modelling by random discontinuous processes

The basic of the investigation is to analyse occurrences following stong and short rainfalls: in terval lenght and possible occurrences of new rainfalls. These occurrences are important for flood flow estimates in small catchment areas. A model is developed based on discontinuous random processes for the study of the new rainfall occurrence distribution following a storm rain, number of occurrences in the precipitation depth interval, distribution of time, depths of new rainfalls, and depths of new rains within a certain period after the rainfall. An identical model can be used for periods proceding storm rains. The given analysis has proved that the model based on random discontinuous processed can be used in describing occurrences of new rainfalls after storm rains. The information provided by the model use includes number of occurrences, periods between occurrences, depths of new rainfalls in subsequent episodes, and total depths of new rains, all important for flood flow estimates in small catchmen areas.
