Visco-plastic changes in solonetz soil due to complex amelioration in the area of "Kumane" [Yugoslavia]

The paper presents the results of plasticity limits, shrinking limit, and viscosity rate of solonetz soils determined at the experimental field "Kumane" in the region of Banat. This determination includes the soil samples from the untreated control area and four experiment variants a complex melioration which included the drainage with the drain spaces of 20 and 10m, the application of 50 and 25 t/ha of phosphogypsum and the subsoiling at the depth of 50 cm followed by 60 t/ha of manure and 400 kg/ha of NPP fertilizers. In variant 1, the values of the plasticity index and viscosity rates were significantly reduced and more uniform, while the moisture diapason for optimal tillage in the upper A/E horizon was improved in all variants of the experiment in relation to the control.
