This paper discusses economic and ecological consequences of forest dying and the tasks of forestry planning. The following is stated in the conclusion: Forest dying represents one of the most important questions concerning man today and in the future. Because of the consequences, it surpasses the forestry economy and represents a social problem of first-class importance. That is why it is necessary to provide a number of measures used to observe the situation, scientific research concerning its occurrence and development as a whole, as well as rehibilitation measures.
