Effect of bone meal as substitute or complement to triple super phosphate on the growth, yield and nutrition of wheat

To evaluate the effect of bone meal as substitute or complement commercial phosphatic fertilizer on the growth and yield of wheat. Results apprised that for both urea and ammonium sulphate, the plant height of wheat increased where Triple Super Phosphate (TSP) and Bone meal (BM) were applied in equal amounts (TSP(50) BM(50)). However, the number of tillers did not increase significantly compared to treatments TSP(100)BM(0) and TSP(75)BM(25)). The dry weight of wheat straw/plant was l.43 and 1.60 g, and grain yield/plant was 3.50 and 3.66 g in treatment TSP(50 BM(o) for both ammonium sulphate and urea, respectively. From the experimental findings it may be concluded that bone meal can effectively be used as a complementary source of phosphate to triple super phosphate.
