Seasonal effects of broiler performance in Bangladesh

Two thousand starbro-15 as hatched broiler chicks were reared up to 56 days of age in winter, summer and in rainy season to examine the effects of seasons on broiler production in Bangladesh. Growth rate in summer and rainy seasons were decreased by 14.5% and 23.3% than that of winter. The corresponding decrease in feed intake in summer and rainy seasons were 9% and 2.72% respectively. The FCR in winter, summer and rainy season were 2.55, 2.71 and 2.24 respectively. The profit was maximum in winter. Intermediate in summer and minimum in rainy season.
