The simulation of spruce culture growth and development contributes to the solution of problems concerning the foundation and growing of spruce stands on bare lands exposed to air pollution. Test localities were situated in the region of the Roznov pod Radhostem forest establishment, in the B pollution zone, at the altitude of 1020 to 1140 meters. These three localities were characterized by their on-site conditions. In the present study biometrical measurements from 15 test plots are processed by means of a computer programme. The results indicate the probable time of canopy formation on different plots, and the graphical representation of horizontal projections of tree crowns is presented. A dependence of the time of canopy formation on tree spacing is evaluated; in the final part of this paper the density of forest stand suitable to be grown at these localities is proposed with respect to the final goal achievement of a stable forest stand.
