Effects of low rates of nitrogen fertilizer on yields of tea
1989
Wanyoko, J.K. (Tea Research Foundation of Kenya, Kericho)
Nitrogen fertilizer is known to give the highest yield response to tea yield as compared to other types of fertilizers. This is due to the high content of nitrogen in harvestable material. This paper looks at some of the factors which influence the yield response to the nitrogen fertilizers. Use of high rates of the fertilizer gave significantly higher yields at high plant population while the low rates did not show any response. The high yielding clones had a better response as opposed to the low yielders
