Tubli root extract was found effective against copra beetle but not effective against corn weevil. High percentage mortalities of copra beetles were obtained compared with corn weevils. The LC50 of tubli root extract lies between 1-1.5% of pure tubli root extract. Aside from being an insecticidal, tubli root extract has also a repellent or anti-feedant action to both copra beetle and corn weevil. The movement of the test insects was observed through their reaction towards the food treated with different concentrations of tubli root extract which served as an initial measure in accounting the presence/absence of repellent or anti-feedant action. Percentage mortalities on both test insects showed that males were more susceptible than females. In storage, tubli root extract was able to protect stored copra for six weeks.
