Evaluation for yield and late blight (Phytophthora infestans Mont de Bay) resistance is a continuing activity in the Philippine highlands to select a variety that is both high yielding and resistant. Two sets of various clones with late blight resistance were divided as follows: Set A consists of 18 clones and Set B with 96 clones, and these clones were re-evaluated for yield and resistance to late blight. This experiment was conducted at La Trinidad, Benguet from December to April 1990. There were five promising clones identified; namely; 384321.35 (380479.15 x Bk 3); 384331.10 (B-33 x Bk LB 79.80); 384321.19 (380479.15 x Bk 3); 384298.63 (380387.3 x Bk LAT); and 384321.15 (380479.15 x Bk 3). These clones have yield ranging from 17.75 to 22.15 t/ha and showed moderate resistance to late blight for up to 87 days after planting. These clones will be further verified in the farmer's field condition. A total of 25 clones was selected from an unreplicated trial and will be further re-evaluated in replicated trials. All of these clones showed high resistance to late blight for 87 days after planting. Yield ranged from 0.20 to 2.90 kg/plant.
