Crude extracts of Aristolochia elegans Mast. and A. tagala Cham., when tested on the Asiatic corn borer, Ostrinia furnacalis (Guenee), caused pronounced deformations and malformations in the larval, pupal and adult stages. Extracts of both species of Aristolochia revealed growth inhibitory repellant and antifeedant properties.
