Assessment of somaclonal variation in sour cherry cv. Sumadinka regenerated from leaf explants

The regeneration of sour cherry cv. Sumadinka was achieved by placing leaf explants, with their adaxial surface touching the culture medium containing Murashige and Skoog mineral salts supplemented with (mg/l): BAP, 2; IBA, 1; GA3 0.1; sucrose 20,000 and agar 7,000. Adventitious shoots were produced directly from the explant within 30 days. No callus formation was observed. Regenerated plants are phenotypically normal having diploid chromosome numbers (2n=32)
