The germination of seeds Guzmania minor "Orange", Vriesea carinata, Aechmea miniata var. discolor and Neoregelia carolinae in different substrates was tested. Seeds of bromeliads need to be germinated in substrate with a high content of organic matter. It should be light, porous, with high air water ratio. Every species of bromeliads requires individual selection of the substrate for growing seedlings
