Effects of heated waters from the cooling systems of 2 power plants on limnological characteristics of 5 lakes are described in this paper. The quantities of nitrates, phosphates, Fe, Ca, carbonates and sulphates brought with these waters are high and cause alcalization of the lake waters, and a very high annual loading of the lakes with P and Ca. In summer temperature differences in relation to natural conditions are 1 to 7 degrees C
