Content of some heavy metals in soils developed from silty formations

The content of Mn, Zn, Mo, Cr, Pb and Fe in orchard soils developed from loesses, weathered silty formations, fluvioglacial and alluvual silts was investigated. The mean content of the metals amounted (in mg/kg) as follows: Mn - to 370; Zn - to 32; Cu - to 10.5; Mo - to 1.56; Cr - to 28; Pb - to 14.5 and Fe - to 1.4 percent. The Mn, Zn, Mo, Pb and Fe content in the soils tested depended to a high degree on the parent rock and the percent of clay particles
