Effect of cultivation time and fertilization on the yield of chinese cabbage and contents of nitrates and other components

It was found out that application of horn-leather dust as nitrogen fertilization does not guarantee as high yields as were obtained at mineral fertilization. In autumn cultivation the weight of 1 head was up to 1.5 kg and was frequently twice as large as in spring. Content of nitrates in cabbage leaves was similar in all the subjects of a given experiment, but most nitrates were found at fertilization with 16 g of horn-leather dust per 1 l of substrate.
