Sterols from Leonurus cardiaca L. growing in different geographical areas

Sterol composition of Leonurus cardiaca L. cultivated in Italy and in Poland was determined. Total sterol content is nearly the same in both examined samples and beta-sitosterol is always the main sterol and it is present in comparable amounts. Some differences for other sterols were observed. This is probably due to different pedoclimatic conditions of growth
