A report on the chemical control methods used to combat an outbreak of the variegated grasshopper, Zonocerus variagatus in two districts of Uganda. Control strategy includes; proper ecological study of Z. variegatus, continued surveillance and swift spraying with BHC (Gammalin) and Sumithion (Fenitrothion 50 ec) in case of an outbreak.
