Three groups of 100 cows each were put to experimentation. Group A received a 2.5 ml dose of lutal i.m. immediately after the artificial insemination. The conception rate in this group reached 47% after first trial at artificial insemination. Group B received a 10 ml dose of tardomyocel L into the uterus 24h after the artificial insemination. Only 31% of cows conceived after first insemination. Group K received no treatment after insemination and was used as the control. After first artificial insemination 42% of cows conceived. The results obtained in this experiment have led us to believe that lutal-stimulated ovulation would produce beneficial effect on the conception in cows and that ovulatory disorders, rather than latent endometritis, may be a cause for poorer conception after first artificial insemination.
