Static bioassay tests were performed to determine the toxic effects of Diazinon-60 EC to three species of Indian major carps. Fish fingerlings having 4.6 cm average length and 2.2 g average weight were exposed to diazinon at 0.40, 0.62, 1.25, 1.75, 2.25 and 3.50 ppm concentrations. Diazinon was found to be toxic to all species of major carps at 1.00. ppm. median lethal concentration of Diazinon to Labeo rohita, Labeo calbasu and Catla catla were 0.90, 1.19 and 1.54 ppm respectively. Comparative susceptibility of the three test species of fishes was in the order of Labeo calbasu, Labeo rohita and Catla catla.
