ABR-CIS (Augmented Bio-Reclamation Conditioning In-Situ) is an in-situ treatment method where natural aerobic microbiological activity is re-activated. This aerobic bacterial activity causes an efficient biodegradation (mineralisation) process of organic matter and of organic contaminants (mineral oil and PAH's). This natural biodegradation process is particularly interesting for in-situ volume reduction of the deposit and/or in-situ decontamination of organic contaminants. The application of the ABR-CIS may represent major savings with respect to the classical dredging and disposal costs.
