Study of the fertility of sheep from the Thracian fine fleeced breed, Starozagorsi type

Possibilities for raising the fertility of the sheep flock from Thracian fine fleeced breed- Starozagorski type were analyzed. It was found that age and lineal appurtenance affect fertility. The number of lambs born by ewes increased with age. Heritability coefficient values were low from 0,091 to 0,245. They increased with age. The coefficient of repeatability values were low, from 0,02 to 0,234 and give no grounds for accepting the evaluation at birth of first lamb as a basic criterion of selection.
