Dimensional analysis study of natural ventilation in livestock buildings

A dimensional analysis technique was used to develop predictive graphs and equations for the ventilation rate due to the stack or chimney effect. Using a one fourth scale model of an open side wall structure with a continuous and unrestricted open ridge, it was found that ventilation rate was approximately proportional to ridge outlet width and was a function of the roof slope of the building
