Effects of paclobutrazol (PP 333) on growth and flowering of Salvia splendens

Foliage spray experiments were made by using PP 333 water solution in different concentrations. The results showed that PP 333 could inhibit stalk and leaf growth of Salvia splendens obviously, not only make the plant stunt, internode shorter, leaf smaller, leaf color deeper, inflorescence stouter, number of inflorescence much more, but also make flower color more gorgeous, thus increasing value in view. The concentration of 500-1000 ppm was optimum in this case
