1987
Vakalunakis, I.D. (Ministry of Agriculture, Iraklio (Greece). Plant Protection Institute)
Several fungicides were compared with each other in laboratory tests and greenhouse potted - plant trials for the control of early blight of tomato caused by Alternaria solami (Ell. et Mart.) Jones et Grout. In the spore germination test dichlofluanid was the most effective fungicide followed by etem, chlorothalonil, captan, folpet, mancozeb, maneb, thiram, zineb and propineb, while iprodione, vinclozolin and procymidone were not effective. In the poison food test iprodione and procymidone were the most effective fungicides. In the greenhouse potted - plant experiments, etem, mancozeb, chlorothalonil, dichlofkuanid, maneb and folpet were the most effective for disease control. Particularly etem gave excellent protection. This fungicide had ED 95 value equal to 357 mg/L which was significantly lower than those of all other fungicides tested.
