Photometric methods in analyzing aerosols

There are many fields of applying photometry in analyzing aerosol, e.g. the development of the external colour and form of packaging, analytical methods, laser diffraction methods, the analysis of the size of drops, etc. On the example of a traditional device with dropping diaphragm it is shown that in analyzing the pictures of dispersion surplus information can be obtained by the application of colorimetry. A simple analysis of the picture of dispersion (section of dispersion cone) registered on paper is possible by analogy, by measuring the Y colour components at 16 points. This analogy enables a reflection curve to be drawn that leads to colorimetrically evaluable X, Y, Z colour components from which the colour characteristics of the CIELAB international colour system can be calculated. With this analogy maintained there is a possibility to evaluate such a registered picture of dispersion where it is not black (grey) but coloured. The basis problem is that the shape of the R o/o reflection curve has to be numerically fixed which has traditions in objective colorimetry.
