Four insecticides were studied for their effect to some biological aspects of Spodoptera litura in laboratory and green house at Entomology Division Bogor Research Institute for Food Crops in 1988 to 1989. Those insecticide were diazinon, fenitrotion, isoprocarb, Carbaryl and control. Four days after insecticides application, third instar larvae Spodoptera litura were infested to soybean plant. After that population of those insect pests was reared in plastic box. The female and male adult of S. litura were coupled and reared in plastic box. Residue of fenitrothion and isoprocarb caused the female adult of S. litura laid their eggs smaller than control. Residue of diazinon and fenitrothion caused the number of eggs hatched of S. litura to be smaller than control. Residue of Diazinon, fenitrothion and carbaryl caused the pupa stadium of S. litura to be longer than control. Residue of diazinon, fenitrothion and isoprocrab caused the longevity of the adult of S. litura to be shorter than control.
