Effect of armyworm (Spodoptera litura) on the yield of Orba soybean variety at various stages of plant growth

Five plant growth stages, and the effect of Spodoptera litura on plant damage, yield components, and yield of Orba soybean variety were studied. During the R2, R3, and R4 stages, plant damage due to armyworm decreased the pod number and yield, while during the R5 and R5-6 stages, the seed weight and yield decreased. During the R2 stage the yield loss of soybean due to armyworm was higher than of the R5 and R5-6 stages but it was lower than that of the R3 and R4 stages. The economic injury level of armyworm at the R2, R3, R4, R5 and R5-6 stages was 2,2; 1,9; 1,9; 2,4 and 2,4 larvae per meter row, respectively.
