A preliminary study was conducted to determine whether Rhizobium sp., and VAM Glomus etunicatum can live in association and infect the roots of Albizia procera (Roxb.) Benth. Height, dry weight of root/shoot ratio, nodule number and nodule dry weight were significantly different. Application of 25 kg N industrial fertilizer per ha under dual inoculation gave better results. This study implies that reforestation or improvement of watershed areas particularly in the upland where conditions are marginal could be attained through inoculation of mycorrhiza. The findings are also very useful for plantation areas with dry spell and short-term annual rainy season.
