The main objective of this experiment which was conducted in a silty clay loam was to find out the effect of plant density and planting date together with the effect of planting dates on yield, yield components and other characteristics with emphasis on popping volume of popcorn. The design was a split plotting randomized complete block design with four replications; the dates were reported for the following traits: mid silking, plant height, leaf area index, grain yield, yield components and popping volume.
