This experiment was carried out to study the general and specific combining ability, heterosis and heritability in four varieties of tobacco (Iskendruna, Prilep, Special and Northern carolina 2326) for 20 characters: days of flower, internode length, stem diameter, plant height, weekly increment for plant height, weekly increment for number of leaves per plant, number of leaves per plant, leaf angle, leaf area index, cured leaf width, cured leaf length, cured leaves weight, fresh leaves weight, yield earliness coefficient, specific weight, cured leaves thickness, number of glandular hairs, mid-rib ratio, ash ratio and moisture content
