Effect of nitrogen fertilization and cycocel on the growth and yield of two eggplant cultivars
1988
Al-Hemdani, B.H.M.
Two eggplant cultivars (local and longpurple) were used in two separate experiments, four levels of nitrogen fertilization (0, 30, 60, 90 kg N/DO) were used and three concentration of cycocel (0, 2000, 4000 ppm). Data for the following characters were recorded plant height, number of branches, drymatter (%) on leaves, leaves content of chlorophyll and nitrogen and phosphors and potassium, fruit number/plant, fruit size and weight, early and total yield, fruits total soluble solids (T.S.S.) and dry matter % studies the effects of cultivar and of nitrogen fertilization the results showed no significant differences in their fruit content of dry matter % and T.S.S. But the effect of cycocel showed that in both experiments number of branches and chlorophyll increased significantly, early and total yield also increased significantly
